DREAM 11 Team Prediction

Dream11 Team Prediction Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians. The two-time winners start their campaign against defending champions Mumbai Indians who in turn began theirs with a defeat to Chennai Super Kings las weekend. Last season, they missed the playoffs by a narrow margin – Sunrisers Hyderabad had same points as them but progressed on the basis of a better net run-rate. They will hope to not leave anything to fate this time around and start on a strong footing.

1. Wicket Keeper : Q de Kock

He is one of the most exciting wicket-keeper batsmen in world cricket and opens the batting for Mumbai Indians. The left-hander batsman loves to attack the bowlers and his game is ideally suited for the shorter format of the game.

de Kock enjoyed a great 2019 season with MI as he was the leading run-getter with 593 runs from 16 game. He also scored four half centuries and was also the third-highest run-getter in the tournament. With Lynn coming in, de Kock will also get a new opening partner should MI try the former in a few games. His form and performance will be vital to MI’s fortune.

2. Batsmen : Rohit Sharma

All eyes will once again be on him as he takes charge as captain of the defending champions. Rohit Sharma has etched his name as the most successful captain in the IPL with four trophies, the most by anyone in the tournament.

Undoubtedly, the most important cog in Mumbai Indians’ wheel, Rohit is high on confidence as he starts the season on the back of the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, the highest sporting honour in India.

A prolific run-getter, the Hitman is one of the most naturally gifted batsmen in the world and has been enjoying a tremendous run with the bat. When it comes to the shorter format, there are few who can match his striking abilities.

3. Batsmen : E. Morgan

An Irish-born Englishman with a reputation for inventive and audacious stroke-play, Eoin Morgan has over time proved to be one of the most innovative players in international cricket. With a blend of nous and power, Morgan is a natural finisher. He has spent most of his IPL career with KKR but represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2015 and 2016 and played for Kings XI Punjab in 2017. The 2019 World Cup winning captain makes a return to the Knight Riders in 2020 after being one of the top buys for KKR in the 2020 IPL Auction.

4. Batsmen : S. Gill

20-year old opener Shubman Gill from Punjab, has drawn immense praise from all quarters after important contributions in India U19 side’s world cup win in 2018. He was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018 and turned in useful contributions for them in his debut season and 2019 season. He was retained by the KKR team management who saw immense batting potential in him and even pegged him to be a part of their core leadership group. He made his ODI debut for India in New Zealand in 2019 and is touted for big things in the future.

5. Batsmen : Sourabh Tiwari

A strongly built cricketer, Saurabh Tiwary is known for his hard-hitting skills. This Ranchi batsman became a familiar face as part of India’s U-19 World Cup-winning team in 2008. But what got him in the limelight was the third edition of IPL where he piled up 419 runs in 16 games for the Mumbai Indians.

His magnificent performance earned him an ODI cap which was then followed by a call up to the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad in IPL 2011 for USD 1.6 million. In recent times though, Tiwary’s willow hasn’t done too much of the talking. After having represented MI, RCB and Delhi Daredevils previously, Tiwary played for RPS in 2016 and has been representing MI from 2017.

6. All Rounder A. Russel

Attacking all-rounder from the Caribbean, Andre Russell is one of the most sought-after talents at the Indian Premier League. He has proved his credentials time and again with masterful batting and bowling performances in the past for KKR. His famed abilities as an impactful all-rounder have come to the fore time and again when his team has required. Be it in run-chases or setting a big total on the board, Andre Russell has been the trump card for KKR.

7. All Rounder : Hardik Pandya

If there is one thing that separates Hardik Pandya from other young cricketers, it is his immense self-belief. The flamboyant Baroda all-rounder never lets pressure affect his game, but instead relishes such situations. A big hitter and a fast-bowling all-rounder, Hardik ticks all the boxes that a team desires from an all-rounder. It was no surprise that he was fast-tracked into the Indian ODI and T20 side after a successful run in the IPL 2015.

8. All Rounder : K Pollard

A Mumbai Indians’ veteran, ‘Polly’ has been with the side through thick and thin. He has seen MI emerge champions and he has seen them struggle. It is very clear that Pollard is central to MI’s theme and the team management and the owners have immense faith in his all-round ability.

9. Bowler : P. Cummin

The lanky Australian fast bowler hasn’t looked back since making his first-class debut in 2011 for New South Wales. He picked seven wickets on his Test debut and topped the wicket-takers’ chart in his maiden Big Bash League, with 11 wickets at 14.09. Sure enough, he became the youngest player to receive a central contract with Cricket Australia. The bowler who was earlier part of the Kolkata Knight Riders squad was bought by the Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2017. He was the most expensive buy in the 2020 IPL Auction after being bagged by KKR for a whopping 15.50 crores. It is back to purple and gold for pacer Cummins.

10. Bowler : K. Yadav

Crafty left-arm wrist spinner was retained by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs. 5.8 crore for the 2019 edition. His exploits across categories while on national duties is stuff of legend and he has proven his worth with wickets in the bag. His uniqueness in terms of being a rare breed of chinaman bowlers is something that has always been an X Factor and will continue to do so for the Knight Riders.

11. Bowler : James Pattison

The Australian speedster will have a huge task at hand as he will be required to fill in the big boots of Lasith Malinga, the most successful bowler in the history of IPL. Pattinson was drafted in as a replacement after the Sri Lankan legend pulled of IPL 2020 owing to personal reasons. Pattinson was earlier picked up by KKR but is yet to make his IPL debut.

Match Prediction

The first few matches of IPL 2020 have been thrilling! We have seen a Super-Over already, the value of experience, and a number of very improved players. There have been some let-downs as well but it is far too soon to write anyone off.

This next match is going to be played between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians. KKR is the last team to get started and will be playing its first match of the IPL. Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, suffered a defeat at the hands of the Chennai Super Kings in their first match.

Both these teams are very strong and have some truly brilliant talent. Can KKR get off the blocks in a flash or will the Mumbai Indians learn from their mistakes in the first match?

KKR vs MI IPL 2020 is going to be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi on the 23rd of September 2020.
