DREAM 11 Team Prediction
Dream11 Team Prediction Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings. Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings made history when they became the first two teams to make the final of IPL back in 2008. Then, RR, in a fairytale fashion, prevailed over CSK to become the inaugural champions. Since then, a lot has happened. CSK have won the title thrice, have made the playoffs/semifinals every season they were part of and in between were suspended for two seasons as well. RR though followed a downward trajectory – the only thing that they have in common with CSK since is the two-year ban from IPL.
Wicket Keeper - Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson came into reckoning with his gritty knocks for Rajasthan Royals in his debut season for the franchise. The wicketkeeper-batsman from Kerala was groomed by Rahul Dravid into a tough campaigner. Sanju made his T20I debut in 2015, but has played four T20Is in the India jersey. He followed his mentor into the Delhi Daredevils squad in 2016 and played some crucial innings for the team during his two seasons with them before moving back to Rajasthan Royals.
Sanju scored 340+ runs in IPL 2019 with the help of a hundred and will hope to score heavily in the IPL 2020.
BAtsmen - Steve Smith
Steve Smith will be looking to lead from the front during IPL 2020. Smith’s presence is a big boost for RR as he is a livewire in the field. With his batting, he can control the innings and give direction to RR’s innings. The Australian has been a batting mainstay to his national team and the scenario won’t be any different as he, along with Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal among others will look to score big.
BAtsmen - Shane Watson
After an intense battle between DD, CSK and RCB, all-rounder Shane Watson finally joined the ranks of Chennai Super Kings for Rs 4 Cr. With an experience of over 100 games in the league, Watson is all set to strengthen the middle-order of Dhoni’s team.
Watson was a part of the Rajasthan Royals since the inaugural season, in 2008. That IPL season also helped him make an improbable comeback to international cricket. After being sidelined due to injuries, Watson decided to join the Royals and emerged the Player of the Tournament in the first edition of the tournament. In the 2016 edition of the league, Watto was bought by RCB.
BAtsmen - Faf Du Plessis
Faf Du Plessis will also once again don the yellow of Chennai Super Kings colours after they used the Right to Match card for him. KXIP bought him for Rs 1.6 Cr but CSK trumped them by using their RTM card and it is a bargain.
While the classy and composed batsman did not get many outings in the RPS squad where he was picked up in the IPL player draft, du Plessis has had consistent performances for CSK wherein he went on to have a very successful debut season scoring 398 runs.
He impressed with a half-century on his ODI debut, against India and soon enough, found himself in South Africa’s squad for the 2011 World Cup. With a century on Test debut against Australia, du Plessis has shed the tag of a limited-overs specialist. Although batting remains his area of prowess, du Plessis can come up with a few handy leg-spinners when required. To boot that, he is a livewire in the field, hence, making him a perfect T20 package for any captain.
BAtsmen -David Miller
After playing for Kings XI Punjab over number of years, David Miller was bought by Rajasthan Royals bought the South African for INR 75 lakh during the IPL Players Auction ahead of IPL 2020.
His 38-ball hundred against RCB in his in 2013 is still remembered by the IPL fans. The left-handed batsman has grown to become South Africa’s middle order mainstay and will be an important member for RR. While he has moved from KXIP to RR, expect Miller to unleash himself in IPL 2020 as RR look to win their second IPL title.
All Rounder : Ravinder Jadeja
The third retained player by CSK ahead of the IPL 2018 Player Auction, Ravindra Jadeja has been MS Dhoni’s go-to-man when he needed to break a partnership and the left-armer has delivered the goods on many occasions. His presence gives Dhoni the extra cushion of playing an additional batsman if needed.
Jadeja has been an enigma right since his advent in international cricket. He was part of the victorious Indian U-19 cricket team that won the World Cup in Malaysia in 2008. His performance in IPL 2008 helped Rajasthan Royals to title victory and earned him the nickname “Rockstar” by his captain Shane Warne. In 2012 IPL player auction, Jadeja was bought by Chennai Super Kings for approx. Rs. 9.8 Crore, making him the most expensive player of the year’s auction. Jadeja has represented the Gujarat Lions for two seasons and is now back with CSK for the eleventh edition of the league.
Bowler : Jofra Archer
A complete package, Jofra Archer was one of the most exciting picks in the IPL Player Auction 2018, fetching a cool INR 7.20 crore. He can whack the ball clean and hard, and when he puts on the bowling shoes, he can clock speeds in excess of 150 kph. He brings in the Caribbean flavour and his wicket celebrations have also made him very popular.
While he did not get to do much with the bat in his maiden season, Archer impressed with the ball. He has varieties up his sleeve and can bowl the slower ball and the yorker.
Since his last two IPL stints, a lot has changed for the speedster. He has won the World Cup 2019 with England, bowling the Super Over of what was a thrilling final against New Zealand. A few days later, Archer also made his Test debut last year during the Ashes. Rajasthan Royals, as one would have expected, chose to retain the pacer for IPL 2020.
Bowler : L. nigidi
A tall pacer, Lungi Ngidi made his debut for South Africa in 2017 against Sri Lanka and was adjudged the Man of the Match. Ngidi was identified as a T20 prospect early on when he finished as the joint second-highest wicket-taker in the Africa Cup, a provincial T20 tournament that serves as a curtain raiser to the season, in September 2015.
Even though Ngidi was a prospect for limited overs, his maiden Test call arrived against India at Centurion. Once again Ngidi had a dream debut and was adjudged the Man of the Match. Ngidi clearly came under the limelight that resulted in him getting a contract with the Chennai Super Kings at the IPL.
Bowler : Deepak Chahar
The Agra-born medium pacer, Deepak Chahar was a part of the Rajasthan Royals squad in 2012, donned the RPS jersey for two seasons and is now all set to represent the Chennai Super Kings in the eleventh edition of the league. Young Chahar plays for the state side Rajasthan in domestic cricket. In the season-opener against Hyderabad in 2010-11, Chahar picked up eight wickets for 10 runs. In his spectacular debut season, he took a total of 40 wickets. Injuries and illness forced him to miss a significant portion of his second first-class season. Ahead of the 2018 season, Deepak was picked by the Chennai Super Kings and medium-pacer had a breakthrough 2018 IPL season taking 10 wickets in 12 matches. He was then subsequently rewarded with an India call-up in limited-overs cricket.
Bowler : T Curran
Rajasthan Royals bought the England all-rounder Tom Curran for INR 1 crore during the IPL Players Auction for the 2020 season. The 25-year-old, who has played for England across formats, can bowl quick and is more than handy with the bat down the order. While he made his IPL debut in 2018 after being picked by Kolkata Knight Riders, he did not feature in the IPL 2019.
Finally, the wait is over and the Indian Premier League 2020 is up and running. The tournament we all were so eagerly waiting for has gotten off to a stupendous start. After a nail-biting contest between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in the first match, Delhi Capitals and Kings XI Punjab produced a humdinger. The start of the IPL has certainly made the wait worth the tournament has just started.
Up next in the tournament are Chennai Super Kings set to take on Rajasthan Royals. While the Super Kings have already had one outing, it will be the first game for the Royals. Chennai Super Kings looked rusty at the beginning of their first match but got back to their usual best before the match ended. Rajasthan Royals have a good contingent arriving from England and considering that those players have already been playing for some time, the Royals just might not need a warm-up, But Jos Butler is not available for this match, CSK can have upper hand on this match, CSK and RR, the two terrific teams with a strong rivalry, are set to lock horns on 22nd September 2020, at Sharjah Cricket Ground, Sharjah.
