MLSW vs. MLRW MATCH PREDICTION
Match 40 of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2020 pits Melbourne Stars Women against the Melbourne Renegades Women at the Sydney Showground Stadium on Sunday. It is the third match of the quadruple-header Sunday 15th November.
The last time these two teams met in the first half of this season, rain played the spoilsport, resulting in no result. The match was abandoned after the play of 17 overs of the first innings. Captain Meg Lanning played an outstanding knock of 51 before rain struck and stopped the game.
Our Women’s BBL Match Prediction predicts that MLSW will win this match on 15th November against the rivals MLRW.
The Melbourne Stars have been rampant in this year’s WBBL, with no losses at the halfway mark. They have been cruising through the tournament with 13 points sitting at the top of the points table. Super skipper Meg Lanning has led the bat, while Elyse Villani and Natalie Sciver have played their parts to perfection. Renegades come into this game with all the world’s momentum and look to make their first WBBL playoffs in a few years. A win in this game will take them to new heights, proving they are unstoppable.
The journey for Melbourne Renegades has been contrasting. Having won only one game hitherto, Amy Satterthwaite-led has struggled to find the right combination of playing 11. Despite having plenty of talented all-rounders in the squad, they haven’t immensely excelled in any department. Their bowling attack also has lacked maturity. With only Sophie Molineux and Georgia Wareham able to consistently perform and contribute, the Renegades will want their other members to join the party sooner than later if they’re going to fancy their chances into this tournament. Pitted at the bottom, they are sure to come back strong.
Both these teams could gain exceedingly from a win in this game, making the game a close-fought encounter. As WBBL 2020 heads towards its business end, we should be in for an exciting match between these two exciting teams with all to play for.
The venue, Pitch Report, and Toss Prediction
With this being the second game of the day at this venue, the pitch might be slower, with the bowlers expected to dominate business. The wicket at the Sydney Showground Stadium is a competitive one. The pace bowlers should extract some swing early in the innings, but the batters might still look to attack them in the powerplay.
There has been a presence of dew in the later stage of the game. Therefore, both the skippers will want to bat first upon winning the toss. Our Women’s BBL Match Prediction predicts batting first will put the team on top early in the match.
Key Players to watch
Courtney Webb and Amy Satterthwaite from renegades and Meg Lanning and Elyse Villani from Stars will be key players for this game.
